Welcome to Maxwell Becton College of Arts and Sciences

Students in the FDU Maxwell Becton College of Arts and Sciences (often referred to as "Becton College") have the opportunity to explore a wide range of interests through their majors and a huge selection of minors, as well as through our general education curriculum. This curriculum enables you to choose courses from areas that explore world cultures, the creative arts, the most recent developments in science, math, and computer sciences, and political, social, and humanistic issues. There's no shortage of programs and classes for you to pursue your passion!

You’ll expand your horizons by getting involved in activities outside the classroom — like our United Nations program; our Words, Arts and Music Festival (WAM) that has featured such artists as Bruce Springsteen and Rosanne Cash; our first-rate theater events; and our student-produced films. You’ll build your experience and resume by working directly with faculty on research projects, presenting at regional and national conferences, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and completing impressive internships.

Becton College is comprised of several Schools and Departments, each of which you can explore here today on the Virtual Admitted Students Experience--as well as at FDU.edu links below:

School of the Arts

Department of Communication

Department of Mathematics and Computer Science

Department of Biological Sciences

Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice

Department of Social Sciences and History

Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics
