Best Advice Ever! 

To offer you some helpful tips you won’t find in a book, we turned to our experts: FDU students who have been through it all. Their college life hacks will help you navigate your first semester with ease!

And, if you’ve got questions, our students are available for a chat. Ask them about their favorite place to eat on campus, where they hangout with friends, what it's like studying for exams and what's helped them achieve their academic goals.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you leave your room. Seriously, go outside to the lawn, go to the mont, do your homework, go to your friend's room to do the homework. It just makes all the difference if you leave your room, trust me.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you get involved in campus. By going to our Devil Days event and going to the Club Fair. Meeting new people and just getting yourself out there. Just be you.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you go to a bunch of the amazing events we have on campus and along with that we have a whole load of awesome clubs where you're sure to find what you'll like. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and meet new people. I did that my first year and I met some of the greatest people I could have met and you can do.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you stay organized, get involved, and use all your resources, like Academic Support.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you take advantage of all the opportunities that are provided for students for free that are amazing on our campus to attend. Whether you're a commuter, or a resident, it doesn't matter, you'll be able to attend all.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if take advantage of all the great opportunities that we have to socialize and network with our fellow students, faculty, and staff.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you get involved during Devil Days, create relationships with your professors and peers, and keep an open mind.

Hey, you will thrive your first year at FDU if you take advantage of all the wonderful events the Florham Programming Committee puts together for our university. You will have so much fun and you will just thrive your first year here at FDU.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you break out of your comfort zone and try something new.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you embrace every opportunity at Florham's Devil Days to step out of your comfort zone and become part of our close-knit community. It's 40 days of non-stop friends, fun, and forever memories.

You will thrive your first year here at FDU if you take advantage of all of the opportunities the campus provides you to get involved.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you go to your professor's office hours. It might not seem like something you're interested in doing right now, but trust me, it will help you get to know them and also help to better your grade.

You will thrive your first year FDU if you take advantage of all the amazing services we have on campus like the First Year Academic Advising Suite. They'll help you plan out your classes so you stay on track and worry free and the less time you spend worrying about classes, the more time you have to spend with your friends.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you take care of yourself. Self care is key.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you get involved. Every year we have our Organization Fair which is held on Commencement Green and all the clubs and organizations that are on campus are there. It's a great place to get involved and meet new people.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you ask for help when you need it. Go to the Academic Support Center, everyone they're super friendly. So make sure you're being kind to yourself and other people.

You will thrive in your first year at FDU if you do something outside of your comfort zone. Get involved in something that you've always wanted to do but never had the opportunity to before FDU.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you find your people and make the most of every opportunity that you get.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you come in with an open mind. There's so many resources available to you with so many people who are willing to help you at all times. On top of this, we have a lot of events that happen right from the beginning of the school year, which gives you a lot of opportunities to make new friends and get involved.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you try to join as many new clubs as possible. FDU has so many different clubs, so you'll be sure to find a community of people with similar interests as you.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you visit the Academic Support Center on campus, even if you don't necessarily think that you need to.

You will thrive at FDU if you make a lot of your friends from the Student Union Building, and don't forget to befriend your professors as well.

You will thrive your first year at FDU if you keep a good balance of social life and work life. You can join an organization, a club, intramurals, or you can just hang out friends. Either way, don't forget to get that schoolwork done.

You will thrive your first year at FDU by working out at the Fitness Center and participating in intramural sports.
