International School of Hospitality, Sports, and Tourism Management

Welcome to FDU’s International School of Hospitality, Sports, and Tourism Management.

The FDU International School of Hospitality, Sports, and Tourism Management is home to two distinct areas of study: Hospitality and Sports. While different in many ways, they share some common traits as "lifestyle degrees": passion, entertainment, excitement and amazing customer experiences. Our distinctions include:

  • CEOWorld Magazine ranked #6 on its list of “Best Hospitality and Hotel Management Schools in the World”
  • Member of Hotel Schools of Distinction - only 10 select schools worldwide are part of this prestigious global network
  • More than 700 internship and career opportunities are available to our students each year
  • Our robust network of over 3,300 alumni in leadership positions in hospitality and tourism offer outstanding opportunities to connect to industry mentors

Our career-focused coursework — combined with a wealth of experiential learning — will prepare you to stand out as a confident and knowledgeable professional to prospective employers. We believe the entire hospitality industry has a common purpose: to deliver great customer experiences that drive business success. An FDU education encompasses the technology, business and consumer behavior aspects of the field while nurturing each student’s talents and skills.

The FDU Hospitality program is the oldest program of its type in the New York metropolitan area and one of the oldest in the country. Our more than 3,300 graduates have gone on to management and executive roles at hotels, resorts, restaurants and tourist destinations around the country—and around the world.

Our Sports Management program will prepare you for leadership positions in sport management, facility and event management, sports marketing and communications, athletic administration and other related areas. You'll begin taking Sports Management courses right away, and work to refine your skills in administration, information systems, accounting, communications and research.

My name is John Niser, and I'm the Director of the International School of Hospitality, Sports, Tourism Management at FDU. I've been working for two years in FDU, and I've never met such an engaged team of people or focused on your success.

Hi, my name is Donald Hoover. I'm the Associate Director of Enrollment for the International School of Hospitality, Sports, Tourism Management. And I'm also proud alumni of this program.

I've had an international career of being successful and passionate about sports, hospitality, and tourism. Students choose our program because they choose to be with people in environments that they love. Students choose our program because they love living, working, and being with people that share their passion in sports and hospitality.

Our experience-based programs on two beautiful New Jersey campuses allow you blaze your trail and create extraordinary experiences. We have many opportunities for you in your education pursuits. We have a BA in Hospitality and Tourism Innovation Excellence, a Bachelor of Science in Luxury Hospitality Management. We also offer minors in hospitality management, restaurant entrepreneurship, and event planning. And if you love sports, you'll love our sport management program with a Master's in Sport Management, and a Bachelor's in Sport Management. We also have a minor in eSports management. And most of all, I think the greatest part of our program is the Four plus One option. With an additional year, you get a Master's degree.

In the hospitality program, the Bachelor of Science in Luxury Hospitality Management is specialized. It is specialized to develop talent that is adapted to the industry needs of today. In that program, students have the option of spending one semester in Florida. They do a full 12 credits of academic work plus paid work at that resort.

You will have the opportunity to stay at our Wroxton, England campus. And on that campus, you'll have the experience of a lifetime. You'll have a 10 day travel break where you can travel across Europe. You will also as part of your stay at our campus have two paid trips, one to France, and one two, Edinburg, Scotland.

Shaniratisore is one of the oldest food and wine lovers society in the world. The headquarters for the US is on our campus in Florham, and we enjoy a very privileged relationship with them. They offer us scholarships, and they offer students opportunities to participate, develop, and work with their members. The relationship with Shan is a long term relationship, we've been involved since a long time with them, and we've continued to enjoy all their benefits. Our hospitality program is very privileged to be a member of Hotel Schools of Distinction. It's an exclusive club of 10 schools worldwide, that enjoy a very strong relationship of partnership between our schools. And it's focused on educating and promoting education that's linked to industry needs. Hotel Schools of Distinction has developed a visual transcript, which is a proof, if you like, that students have the talent and the competencies that industry is looking for. All our graduates from the BA and the BS program received the HSD visual transcript.

And so what makes our program unique is one of the oldest in the country. We have a professional development series where you have experience based internships with skills that are in workplace settings. We have a 12:1 student faculty ratio. We have a five to one intern student ratio. And we have a 95% completion rate. And one thing that I'm most proud of is that 99% of our students in the program graduate, and when they graduate, they have a job already. And so welcome. And I hope you have the same experience I had at school.

Employers love our students because they're looking for creativity, engagement, work ethic, and passion. Our business, it's all about creating experiences for our guests, and students who come into our program all the students who love to do that we love to create these experiences. It's all about new, it's all about you, and it's all about creating compassion into what you're doing. I welcome you to our school. We look forward to seeing you.
